Koen De Witte, M.Sc., MBA, Managing Director reMYND

Koen De Witte is the managing director of reMYND since 2007, director of FlandersBio vzw (the Flemish biotech industry representative with more than 210 members) and member of the general assembly and co-founder of CMI (Centre of Medical Innovation, focussing on translational medicine).

Before joining reMYND, Koen was an Associate Partner at McKinsey & company, where he was part of the Global Leadership of the Pharmaceutical and Healthcare practices.

His client work focused primarily on new product introductions and setting up new businesses for his pharmaceutical clients.

Gerard Griffioen, PhD, CSO Drug Discovery

Gerard Griffioen obtained his PhD degree in 1996 at the Free University of Amsterdam where he pursued his research interests in the fields of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology by studying molecular mechanisms involved in controlling gene transcription.

He subsequently held research positions at the University of Vienna (Austria) and the University of Leuven (Belgium).

An Tanghe, PhD, Manager Contract Research

Prior to joining reMYND, An Tanghe held a post-doc position at the University of Leuven (2002-2009) and combined this with a position as a Industrial Project Manager at the Flemish Interuniversity Institute of Biotechnology (2005-2009).

Her research was focused on the molecular improvement of yeast strains for application in various industrial fermentation processes.

Hans van der Saag, CFO and Legal Counsel

Since 2006, Hans van der Saag is CFO of reMYND. Prior to joining reMYND, he co-founded and managed as COO an agricultural biotech company – CropDesign – which was acquired by BASF in 2006. In that capacity he helped raising more than 40 million EUR and growing the company to a leader in its field.

He previously worked as a senior lawyer with Monsanto and ICI.
